It was a great night for the Office Design Industry yesterday as Kelvin & Frank Reid hosted an event about how experiences shape who we are. It is the seventh series from The Design Journey talks organized by the company.

This is the first time The Office Designer.com is there to witness one of these events and was streamed LIVE via its Facebook page. The evening was indeed a great networking and catch up session between design professionals and industry players with lots of finger foods and booze to spice up the evening.
The Venue

It took place on the newly minted co-working office SPACES at One Raffles Place. Just outside Raffles Place MRT, this place has a creative vibe and a conducive environment that works well with designers and someone who wants to work with an energetic ambiance that can bring out the “out of the box” mentality necessary for today’s challenging business environment.
How Experiences Shape Who We Are…

As the evening moves to the main event (the talk), the audience was, full of laughs as the first speaker of The Design Journey, Ms. Charlene Lim of Haworth opens up with a spice of local humor while sharing her experience. This sets the tone for the next speaker Ms. Tiffany Totiensri of Steelcase to come up with very interesting insight from an expats point of view. The next two speakers Mr. Michael Heinemeier of Lutron and Jay Rakich of Stylecraft Singapore followed through with a contribution of their own.
Overall, it was a very electric atmosphere and the industry needs events like this to inject a dose of energy to an otherwise difficult time for business
As the discussion comes to a close, the night was capped by another networking session between old friends and industry partners. As what Frank Chen (The moderator) mentioned to the audience, this night is not about business there are no titles and no competitors. It is a night where the industry professionals get together to have fun, share experience and be united.

The next event (When we take on Different Paths) will be on the 1st of October. You can contact Mr. Frank Chen for details. Other notable sponsors are Facility Link and A-xet Floor Coverings. You may also reach out to Ms. Catherine Andrade of SPACES if you need a great co-working office at the heart of the Central Business District.
